Autumn Lupin Books

Krampus: The Yule Lord

Krampus: The Yule Lord - Brom 4.5 Stars

The Reptile Room

The Reptile Room - Lemony Snicket 3.5 stars. I do really enjoy his mechanic of explaining the meaning of words within the context of the story.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - Parts I & II (Special Rehearsal Edition)

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - Parts I & II (Special Rehearsal Edition) - J.K. Rowling, John Kerr Tiffany, Jack Thorne Honestly, there were some incredibly super weird and awkward plot points. But overall, I loved this ridiculous canon fan fiction. I'm over the moon with Scorpius and Albus, and the various Ron and Hermione scenes. I can see how the play could be absolutely incredible, and I'm still really hoping I get to see it with this cast.

The Magic of Math: Solving for x and Figuring Out Why

The Magic of Math: Solving for x and Figuring Out Why - Benjamin Arthur Quarles I knew most of the things in this book, but it's definitely a good read if you enjoy math. And there are puns throughout, which is either a good or bad thing, depending on who you are as a person.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - J.K. Rowling First read: July 21 2007
Second read: July 31 2016

The Tales of Beedle the Bard

The Tales of Beedle the Bard - J.K. Rowling Re-read July 29, 2016.

Living With Danger

Living With Danger - Anne B. Walsh An AU with a happy Remus is just a great thing, and I actually enjoyed the AU elements a lot. However, the writing is noticeably weak, far more conversation than needed. But still a pretty emotional experience and I'm actually shamelessly excited to read the sequel.

James Potter and the Curse of the Gate Keeper

James Potter and the Curse of the Gate Keeper - G. Norman Lippert, Johnny Atomic I didn't enjoy this as much as the first one, but it was okay. It got better as it went on, but it took a while to get there.

The Eye of the World: The Graphic Novel, Volume 1

The Eye of the World: The Graphic Novel, Volume 1 - Robert Jordan, Chuck Dixon, Chase Conley Given that The Eye of the World was prose first, and I read the prose first, this started out as a really weird medium to convey the story in. However, it definitely improved as it went on, and the artwork was pretty gorgeous, so I have no real complaints about this.

The Square Root of Summer

The Square Root of Summer - Harriet Reuter Hapgood I wanted to read this book because it had "square root" in the title. I'm glad it did, because I actually kind of liked this book. It was kind of cute, and interested, weird, but overall a good read.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - J.K. Rowling Originally read the first week it came out.

This is my least favourite of the series, due to the overwhelming horridness that is Umbridge. She's just so awful. And so many characters in this book are just so foolish and ridiculous and so many things could have been avoided had they not been such silly and/or angry people.

The Slow Regard of Silent Things: A Kingkiller Chronicle Novella

The Slow Regard of Silent Things: A Kingkiller Chronicle Novella - Patrick Rothfuss I loved this. There are no words to describe how this book made me feel, but I know for certain that I loved it. It was just so right. It was the exact book I needed to read at this time, and I didn't know until I finished it. It was just... meant to be.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets - J.K. Rowling Originally read in, oh, 2002.

The Wise Man's Fear

The Wise Man's Fear - Patrick Rothfuss the time he took writing this paid off, as the writing has definitely improved, the story is still amazing, and I'm looking forward to whenever the third book comes out!

The Color of Magic

The Color of Magic - Terry Pratchett this was interesting, and I'm definitely looking forward to reading the other Discworld books

Room

Room - Emma Donoghue I definitely struggled with the last quarter of the book, but it was an interesting read for sure.
